Treasure Hunt
This morning some pirates took some treasure from Miss Smith's car. They left a map, so decided we would go on a hunt to find the treasure.
First stop was the water fountain.
Aww no treasure here. So we walked to the next spot.
At the playground we searched high and low...
Yes - Ashley found a clue!!
Outside the library Lucas found our next clue!
We tip toed to our last spot. We were very excited!
The treasure has to be somewhere here in the butterfly garden.
And then presto - the treasure was found!
Well done Hazel!!

Trick or Treat
Friday 31st October was Halloween. Many children went trick or treating with their families that night dressed in some spooky costumes. I'm not sure how many of them did tricks, though I am sure most were lucky to get yummy treats to share and eat
Some of our friends decided to come dressed up to school.

Folk dancing concert
Phew! After 9 weeks of learning new dances, remembering the moves (and our buddies!), standing in the right place and practising 2 times a week, our big day finally arrived.
Today we were buzzing with excitement as all our hard work came together
We did two dances along with Room 1
- Follow my leader
- La Chevre
We performed two shows - one this morning and one this evening.
Everyone dressed up in their favourite costumes and clothes. Some of us had different costumes for both shows. We all looked amazing!
Ms Boyd is so proud of every one of us - we are stars!

Daffodil Day
bits n pieces
Soooo much has happened this term since my last post, so here goes...
Jordan and his family have gone to live in America. We will all miss him, but we are going to Skype him to find out what his new school is like.
We had these 4 new children join our classroom - Welcome to Room 2!
HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY JAYDEN!!
His 'Skylander's' cake looked so fantastic, we didn't want to cut it!

Amber likes the slide on our school playground. At home she enjoys playing on the X-box. Her favourite place to eat is Valentines. |
Ashley likes playing with her toys at home, particularly her teddy bears. She likes to eat red apples and listening to the crunchy sound they make. Ashley loves counting to 10 for us in Chinese. |

Commonwealth Games Close Up
Room 2 have had their turn to create a Commonwealth Games stadium. The first step was to research images of their chosen sport and mark them up with labels.
Children work together to build their stadium. |
Next the children were asked to work together with other team members to construct a stadium venue that contained the features they found in their photographs. As well as the stadium there had to be some kind of connection to other structures - a road, railway, bridge or tunnel.
No guesses for what this stadium will be used for when finished. |
Each child chose their sport and group members. The "world" was created in advance and a "host" (i.e. a responsible child familiar with minecraft) appointed by the teacher. Their job was to keep team members' construction projects within the "world". Actually keeping the team from wandering off the edge of the known world was the initial challenge.
