Welcome Salolo and Aarav!

Room 2 is pleased to welcome Salolo to our class. Salolo comes from Tuvalu and has only been in New Zealand for a few weeks. He has a sister Melanie in Room 13, and his cousin Ruby also attends WHS. We are looking forward to helping Salolo learn English.
Salolo likes swimming and to play games on the mobile phone.

Tuvalu means 8 cultures or "8 standing together", which refers to the 8 traditional islands of Tuvalu.
"Talofa" is the greeting (this is the same greeting as Samoa)
You would need to fly to Suva (Fiji) and then another flight to Tuvalu.
Most people use a motorbike as transport.

Room 2 also welcomes Aarav.  His older brother Aryan was in Ms Boyd's class last year, and is now a Year 2.
Aarav likes to climb trees. At home he likes to play with his hot wheel cars!

  1. Welcome Aarav and Salolo. Thank you Miss Boyd for sharing information about Salolo's country with us. It must be very scary for him knowing so little English. I know his Room 2 friends will help him lots :)
