MOTAT Trip

Today was our long awaited trip to Motat to learn about transformation/changes from the olden days or another name we know it as - the past

For some of us it was our first visit to Motat, and there was so much to see, learn and do. Tell your family all the things you saw. What was your favourite thing you saw or did?  What was one thing you learned about?

We were very lucky to have some parents, grandparents and uncles help on our trip so a big shout out to you all from us:

THANK YOU!!!!!!

We had loads of fun in the discovery room learning about all the things used in the olden days
What did you have a go at?

People used this feather with ink to write with - they are called quills

This is definitely not like the computer we have at school!  Ms Boyd used to have one of these typewriters at home to help with writing

Hmm wish I had brought my load of washing for you ladies to wash!

In the past the eldest person had a bath first right down to the youngest, and they even used the same water!

these pails were used to carry water home so it could be used for cooking, washing and drinking

Ashley thought it would be great to sit on one of the modernised chambers

lookin swish..

lookin swag

We enjoyed looking at the fire engines and racing cars

Jordan's Mum used to get a ride everyday to school on one of these scooters

Ms Boyd told us to sit up straight and not to have fun in the school house, as in the past school was not much fun like it is at Western Heights!

Beautiful sitting Hazel!

This is an abacus - think about where you have seen one before

Ms Boyd didn't think being a teacher would have been fun either - especially if you couldn't hang out at the ice cream shop and had to scrub the classroom floor each week!

Ella's Nana remembers this type of classroom just like it was yesterday!

The days of the red telephone box.  This was the only way of communication  for some people.
Ms Boyd remembers these when she was young....not so long aog

Is your toaster similar to this one?

Fun in the hands on challenge room

Although we enjoyed being in the earthquake house, none of us want to be in a real earthquake!

We can't come to Motat and not have a turn on the playground!

super bunch of people from Room 2!

We were very good at waiting patiently for our tram ride
